Each tent at Serian Nkorombo has been designed for comfort while capturing the essence of a mobile camp. They have comfortable beds and traditional furnishings, a touch of luxury in the wild. The large en-suite bathrooms have a flush toilet and a bucket shower. The camp has a mess tent where you can enjoy breakfast.
Game Drives and Activities
They offer exciting game drives with expert guides. You’ll have a safari vehicle to explore the wildlife, including lions, elephants, and crocodiles. The guides, like James Kipetu and Mark, are passionate about Maasai culture and the local wildlife.
They are also multilingual, so guests from all over the world are welcome. We offer a flexible schedule and personalized menus, allowing you to customize your stay.
Optional Activities
We often say that game drives are not enough when planning a safari to Kenya. You should always do as much as possible since you might never revisit the Masai Mara. Some of the activities recommended by Mr. Solomon, our senior guide at AjKenyaSafaris.com, include a Maasai cultural tour, a hot air balloon ride, a walking safari, and bush meals.
For an additional £460 per person, we can book you a hot air balloon ride that concludes with a bush breakfast. The Maasai cultural tour costs £30 per person, while bush meals cost around £50 per person. Please note that the camp requires a minimum of four people to hold bush meals.
Private Experience Options
For an even more exclusive experience, Serian Nkorombo offers a private stay. The dedicated team, led by Moses, will be with you throughout your visit. You can use the camp’s facilities and activities without sharing with others, so it’s a truly private vacation.
The Nkorombo Camp Experience
The Nkorombo Camp experience is about reconnecting with nature and immersing yourself in the Masai Mara. You can learn about Maasai life and culture from our guides. From breakfasts under croton trees to lounging in safari chairs by the river, every moment is carefully crafted to create lasting memories.
You can also have bush meals on your game drives for a unique dining experience. Late evening drives are perfect for sundowners, allowing you to enjoy a drink while taking in the beauty of the Mara.

Serian Nkorombo is part of the Ngare Serian partnership, a collection of genuine safari camps in the heart of the Masai Mara National Park. This means you have the camp and its facilities all to yourself, allowing you to get lost in the African wilderness. Serian is about an authentic holiday with a focus on excellent game viewing and personal service.
The partnership includes several sister camps, each with its own unique experience. With your private safari vehicle and guide, you can explore at your own pace and discover the incredible wildlife that calls this place home. The Ngare Serian partnership is also profoundly committed to Maasai culture and conservation, ensuring the Mara will remain here for generations to come.
By staying at Serian Nkorombo, you’re not only having a great holiday but also supporting the local community and the conservation of this incredible ecosystem. Wildlife Found Here
Our safari guide, Mr. Peter, has found this area to be rich in diverse wildlife, including the Big Five: lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and buffalo. He has also spotted hippos and crocodiles in the Mara River, especially during the migration season.
In terms of predators, there are lions, leopards, and hyenas. They come to hunt prey, licking the salt around the camp. These include zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, antelopes, gazelles, and others.
Communication and Connectivity
The camp may be located in a remote part of the Masai Mara, but it has all the essentials. The camp features a satellite phone and internet connection, allowing you to stay in touch with loved ones. Its guides and staff are always available to help you get connected if needed. They’re close to the Musiara Airstrip, so arrival and departure are easy with regular flights to major airports in Kenya.
Even with connectivity, we want to provide you with a low-key holiday experience, allowing you to truly disconnect from the world and immerse yourself in the African wilderness.
Activities and Excursions
Beyond game drives, the camp offers lots of other activities. Even if you arrive before the migration, you can still have a fantastic time. Guests can enjoy guided walks, cultural visits to Maasai villages, and even hot air balloon safaris for a unique perspective of the Masai Mara.
Getting There
Getting to Serian Nkorombo Mobile Camp is an adventure in itself. The camp is accessible via the Musiara Airstrip, and we can arrange transfers to bring you to the camp. The journey offers a glimpse into the diverse landscapes and wildlife you’ll encounter.

Demerits of Mobile Camps in Masai Mara
A mobile camp offers an authentic and immersive safari experience, but it always has some shortcomings. To begin, they have limited amenities and are not comfortable. They lack the facilities found in permanent camps and lodges, like spas, fitness centers, swimming pools, and electricity.
While they have askaris or guards who patrol the area during the night, the mobile camps are usually unfenced. This means that wildlife wanders around the camp during the night, which can be unsettling for tourists. Their off-road and remote location can also pose an issue for individuals with mobility impairments.
Guest Testimonials and Reviews
Serian Nkorombo Camp boasts numerous glowing reviews from satisfied guests who rave about the personalized holiday experience.
“Excellent staff, delicious food, bucket shower at the right temprature in a beautiful setting. Authentic safari camp right on the banks of the Mara River. Dinner is served with all guests at the same table after a drink around the campfire. Mattresses need to be replaced with new ones.” – Frans F.
Excellent experience at Ngare Serian and Serian Nkorombo
“We recently returned from Kenya, where we stayed in both Ngare Serian and Serian Nkorombo. The staff at both camps were terrific – friendly, helpful, courteous and kind. Moses Munyaka, the manager at Serian Nkorombo, was fantastic. He gave us a “back of the house” tour, during which we saw the kitchen, garden, staff quarters, and outdoor cooking area. We loved the hot water bottles in the beds and the early morning wake-up calls that came with biscuits, hot chocolate, and coffee. Highly recommend both camps.”- Catherine M.
