What Our Guests Say
We love the feedback we get from our guests. They often comment on the exclusivity of one experience and the serene atmosphere that makes Elewana Sand River so special. Their words are a testament to this place.
Migration and River Crossing Were Amazing
“To put my comments in context, this is our 6th Africa trip, so we have taken many game drives and stayed at many different lodges. A Masai. Great stay at Sand River Mara. The highlight was being able to observe the River Crossing and Migration. Three years ago, we missed it as the animals were early. We have seen the migration before, and it’s always breathtaking to see maybe 100,000 Wildebeest and Zebra spread out as far as the eye can see.
After viewing the crossing, we had a close encounter with a Leopard, apparently a rare sight in the Mara. So rare that about 40 jeeps surrounded her, I felt sorry for her, but she didn’t seem bothered. Visiting a Masai Village was disappointing. Alex was our guide and was very personable and knowledgeable. We had him join us for dinner one night, and he gave us fascinating insight into the Masai culture.”– Brian B.
Great experience. The food was good, and the Accommodations were excellent. Service was excellent! The safari to watch the great migration was disappointing due to the large number of jeeps, which created significant congestion and dust, causing confusion and fear among the animals. Something should be done to meter or better control the flow of tourists. All other safari drives were perfect, with lots of local wildlife visible and in proximity. -Gary P.
